At the beginning of the year we announced plans to build a Woodland Pavillion for community gatherings. A fair few people have since kindly come forwards offering to help, and we met last Saturday to get to know one another, discuss progress and challenges encountered so far, and decide how to proceed further.
After introductions and visiting the woodland pavilion site, we split into groups to brainstorm ways to approach this exciting project. There was a positive and inspiring atmosphere around the heathland bonfire, and we welcomed and appreciated each other’s input as this is a new process for all of us.
We agreed the main task for the next few weeks will be to identify suitable funding sources, while also working on the budget, build schedule and setting up ways of communicating and sharing information.
We’ll be meeting again in the coming weeks to review our findings, discuss next steps and have some more fun around the bonfire. We’re always open to newcomers, so please contact us if you’d like to join the team. If you are interested in helping us with the actual build, we’ll be posting volunteering opportunities in the coming months, so please join our mailing list below!
