Visiting us
While we welcome visitors to elfwoods, visits to the site are by prior arrangement only. This is to ensure that we minimise our impact on Nature and on the local community. Please contact us to arrange a time to join us at elfwoods.
Location
Elfwoods is located just north of Rogate, West Sussex. Our What3Words are ///touched.sunset.magically. You can use this link to find us using your preferred mapping app.
Getting to elfwoods
By train
- Petersfield railway station is just under 6 miles away from elfwoods (around 15 minutes by car/taxi).
- Liss railway station is slightly closer to elfwoods (just under 4 miles – around 10 minutes by car/taxi), however there are no onward bus services from here.
By bus
- ‘Fyning House’ bus stop is a 20 minute walk from elfwoods. Bus number 92 runs fairly regularly from Petersfield/Midhurst to this stop.
- ‘Terwick Rise/Terwick Common’ bus stop is only a 2 minute walk from elfwoods, but there is a very limited service to this stop. Bus number 92 runs Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri once a day in each direction to this stop. Bus number 93 runs Wed and Sat once a day in each direction to this stop.
- ‘Borden Village Hall’ bus stop is a 15 minute walk from elfwoods. Bus number 93 runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays once a day in each direction to this stop.
Travelling from Petersfield on B2070
- From London Road (B2070), take the right turn signposted to ‘Rogate’, just before the Jolly Drover pub.
- Continue along Rogate Road for 1.5km and go straight across a staggered junction onto Dangstein Road.
- Travelling along Dangstein Road you’ll pass the Forestry Commission site ‘Tullecombe’ on your left after around around 1.5km.
- A further 1km further down the road you’ll pass a small black and white signpost marking a right turn to ‘Fyning’.
- Not far (200m) past this signpost take a right turn through a large, white gate. Keep an eye out as the entrance is partially hidden from view.
- Passing through the gate you’ll see another large, white gate directly ahead. Take the track to the right before you reach this second gate.
- Continue approximately 200m along the track and you’ll find the elfwoods carpark on your right.
Travelling from Midhurst on A272
- After passing through Trotton, take the next sharp turn on the right into Gatehouse Lane.
- Around 1km along Gatehouse Lane you’ll come to a fork in the road (South of Bordon). Take the road to the left of the fork, signposted to ‘Rake/Liss’.
- You’ll pass a track on your left approximately 200m along this road. Around 300m further ahead, take the left turn through a large, white gate.
- Passing through the gate you’ll see another large, white gate directly ahead. Take the track to the right before you reach this second gate.
- Continue approximately 200m along the track and you’ll find the elfwoods carpark on your right.
